About Time

I bought my first overpriced bag this week. Fi-na-lly.

I'm not going to pretend that buying this bag is no big deal for me. It is, seeing that I don't exactly think of its price as spare cash. I guess it took me so long to get myself one because I work hard for what I have. When you're not gifted, by blood or affinity, with a silver spoon in your mouth, you know it becomes difficult to part with your hard-earned cash.

I just figured: (1) Rather than spending hours online oggling, might as well just get it over and done with; (2) I need to satisfy my curiousity; and (3) I just gave birth, ergo I deserve a gift.

So now that I have one of these sitting in my closet, I'm torn between selling it already (because it isn't very different from all my other bags, in terms of purpose) OR getting more of it. Hala.

I can imagine how purchasing these things can be addicting. Fortunately, I know the addiction begins only when you start treating a handful of them as a 'collection.' To depress the yearning, you have to have to listen to the voice of reason. That voice will be my sister, Gene, who is a mother of three and hence, is in a proper frame of mind when it comes to spending wisely.

One is enough...I think.

  2. Woohoo!!!!!!! Welcome to the club! I'm pretty sure you'll be getting another one soon Hahaha :-) Worth it naman kasi masaya ka. And if you need to justify your purchase some more.. think of it as an investment or something to pass down to Malik's little sister :-)

I will echo Mel and ask what style did you get?

  3. Hey Mel and China, I got a neverfull mm damier ebene. I like it actually. It fits all of my mommy things like bottles and extra diapers nicely.

Mel, I bought it here but pre-owned, which more or less amounts to how much it would cost if I bought it brand new in say, HK. Bakit nga ang mahal dito? Tax? Customs? Or just cause they can?!

  4. Oooh nice! I like that bag.

Mahal dito because of luxury tax and sometimes if the peso is weak they increase prices also. Cheapest LV is in France, may tax rebate pa!

  5. Congratulations on joining the dark side! Neverfull is a perfect mommy bag. You can just throw everything in, stuffed toys included. And it's great for traveling too...

P.S. If you want more bags, I'm selling an LV and Gucci .... I need to fund my future "Projects" :-)

  8. Okayyyy. Parang mas mura yata magbayad na lang ng price difference kesa pumunta sa France UNLESS someone we know in Europe is willing to hand-carry one over. Hmmm. Parang may kakilala akong nasa Europe ah. Itago na lang natin siya sa pangalang Schmolda. Schmolda Schenjamin.

  10. Hey Yen. Talaga naman. Bags that I really drool over are way beyond my means. Kaya ito, palagay lagay na lang sa "cart" online. Never naman ako nag- "check out". Haha
