Evacuees

We had to evacuate twice yesterday because of the typhoon.

I first decreed that the windows of our room be shut because the winds were blowing rainwater onto our bed (You all know how close our bed is to our window). Because the electricity went out at around 11p.m., our room got pretty stuffy. To counter that, we had to move to the living room, to sleep on the living room floor! This was evacuation no. 1.

The winds were too scary. Ordinarily, I sleep well on a storm night. Everyone loves sleeping in during a typhoon! But now that we're looking after a baby, the feeling is different. I got scared everytime the winds blew, deathly afraid (without any basis whatsoever) that the wind will blow the roof off our house. Haha

Since we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor, I was also afraid Malik would crawl out of the mattress while I'm asleep. Nyee. So I was looking at Malik the entire time, or maybe I did fall asleep but always with one eye open. This happens!

Malik sound asleep. This wasn't take during the typhoon  by the way. That would have been impossible. This was taken last night. Just wanted to share what I see last before I fall asleep. Nice, no.

Naturally, I had to skip work yesterday. I just figured it would be useless for me to show up at the office still feeling (and looking) sickly from a night of no sleep. At around 1 p.m., with still no electricity in sight, we decided to move to my in-law's house in Quezon City. This was evacuation no. 2.

Typhoon Basyang came and went quickly. We went home at around 6 p.m. yesterday, to a well-lit house with no rains pouring outside. Everything seems back to normal now. The sun is shining brightly, and there's electricity where Malik is at.

I hope everyone is as safe.  Happy Thursday!
