Test Drive

I wanted Pao to buy the Flip Mino, since that's the mini handheld that I've been seeing in blogs all over.
The Flip MinoHD: Too cute.

But apparently, a Kodak Zi8 is the better HD camera. I understand we got more value for our money, although I never bothered to know why. I leave these and similar matters, i.e. car maintenance, AVRs for the TV, etc. to Pao.

I think it has something to do with being able to shoot "image-stabilized" 1080p HD videos and expand memories to up to 32GB or 10 hours of video time. In contrast, the Flip Mino only has internal memory, has no LCD, and the images can turn out shaky. I don't know. I'm not really competent to discuss these things. So if you're interested, just read this.

My only requirement is that I should be able to upload and share videos with ease. The Kodak Zi8 serves this purpose because it has a built in USB thing-a-ma-jig that I can just swing out and plug without having to look for a separate cable.

In the end, all this means is that I'll be able to share not just photos but videos of my pogiboy from now on.

  1. I have a Flip. It's fantastic. The only gripe I have is that you can't charge it without plugging it in the computer (or maybe you can and I just didn't read the manual).

The original Flip couldn't record HD video, but the later models can already. I have the Flip Mino HD and it works great.

  2. @melvel - Pao says the Kodak Zi8 comes with a free hd cable that you can plug to your hd tv. (Tama ba, Pao?) Ewan. Haha
