Where I should be

This is where I should be today.

Ate Bear texted AizaS early this morning to tell her she's not feeling well and hence, will not be able to come back from the mountains (Antipolo). I wonder why she did not text me instead. Technically, she still hasn't asked us if she could miss work. It was such short notice, needless to state. I couldn't not go to work today because of a couple of hearings. So I pulled out the grandpa card again, Pao called in to tell his officemates that he'll be late, and then Lola Girlie will have to miss half the work day to take care of Malik later.

It's moments like these when I wish I were a full-time homemaker. If that were the case, we wouldn't have to call in people to leave Malik with. Someone will always be around, and that someone would be me.

Anyway, times are hard and I understand running a household now requires compelling both parents to bring in income. It takes a village to raise a child. It takes a village to raise a child. Hay.

  1. I can totally relate! Especially right now that Gabby is sick, and our yaya suddenly had to go home to Bicol for a few days, and I have a lot of work at the office. It would have been simpler and easier if I were a stay-at-home mom, but times are hard. Aaaay.

  2. Oh no Chi! I hope your baby feels better soon. Nasan siya ngayon? Don't you wish our employers would put up daycare centers at the office?!
