The Passive Dumpee

You may have heard, news is going around that Liz Uy is "seeing" the President. I don't know what "seeing," means. I sure as hell "see" everyone as I am not visually impaired but I "date" only my husband. Anyway, Liz is keeping mum on the matter. I feel for her.

On the one hand, going from dating John Lloyd Cruz to Noynoy Aquino is a huge downgrade. The latter may deserve plus points for being THE President of the Philippines but it's really useless pitting him against Lloydie in the appeal department. Let's face it. At a certain point in a woman's life, we like to think about bearing children and finding a suitable mate who will provide us good genes. Imagine the children that you will bear if you marry John Lloyd Cruz -

Now imagine your children should your husband be Pnoy -

Uh-huh. On the other hand, who would want to do the honors of being that woman who turned down the most powerful man in the country? Willing ba si Liz Uy mang-basted ng Presidente? Oh no. I'm guessing she's keeping quiet until the President decides he's lost interest. I will call this strategy, "passive dumping." I hope she succeeds. Go Liz.

  1. They’ll get married. She’ll be blinded by the prospect of becoming first lady (feeling Carla Bruni or heck, even Kate Middleton). And Kris Aquino will be so happy.

I think they're not using the term "date" kasi iba ang implication ng "date" sa western countries. As in "we're dating" means "kami na". Hahaha

This screams arranged “relationship” to me.

  2. True story: Once upon a time, I had the honor of sitting in the same dinner table as the President who was then Senator. In fairness, he can be really funny. So if they get married and their kids ask, "Mom, why did you marry dad?" Liz can say, "Well anak. Your dad has a good sense of humor."
