Story-Telling Time

I've come to terms with the fact that as a working mother, I will miss some milestones in Malik's life. Malik just spends most of the day with our kasambahays. I'm lucky only because we have helpers at home who are ma-kwento about Malik's activities and who are as fascinated by him as I am. So most of the time, I make do with the stories they tell me when we get home.

Like this true story as told by Ate Bear's sidekick Aling G: The other day, Ate Bear took Malik out of his crib and let him stand (only briefly) barefoot on the floor. Malik, perhaps realizing that he shouldn't be walking barefoot, grabbed his slippers from the table, put them on the floor, and attempted to put them on. Awww.

Not a picture of Malik putting on shoes, but noteworthy nonetheless.

Malik inside his toy bin. He loves it there. I wonder how long it will be until he can't fit inside anymore.

I was told Ate Bear and Aling G were squealing in delight when they saw Malik try to wear his rubber clogs by himself. I'm so sad I missed this. The story would have made a better blog entry had I been able to take an accompanying photo.

Anyway, at least this story I know personally: Malik woke up the other night at the ungodly hour of around 3 A.M. I was trying to get him to go back to bed so I let him lie down beside me and occupy part of my pillow. Malik, thinking that I'm actually invading his private space, started pushing me away - by shoving my face! It was too cute (and I was too sleepy) that I forgot to get mad at him for it. Haha However, I made a mental note to tell the story in this blog. Et viola.

Picture of Malik sleeping, taken on another day. I stalk my child in this sense.

By the way, lately Malik's learned how to use a hairbrush. I'm amazed. Clap, clap.

Malik brushing his hair this morning.

  1. Hi Sis! That's so cute! No worries...I'm sure you'll always be No.1 in Malik's Heart! ;-D

    Best Regards!
