About this weather and a cozy hotel in Boracay

I hope everyone's staying safe and dry. I was woken up by howling winds this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Apparently, when you're a mother, you worry a lot when the rain is pouring this hard. "Did we remember to close the windows downstairs?" "Did they remember to take in the clothes from out back?" "I hope the roof isn't leaking again." "I should ask Pao to move the pick-up away from that coconut tree."

I actually love rainy weather but not when it starts getting unsafe. Makes me wish we were back at the beach. This reminds me, I have yet to share photos of where stayed in our not so recent Boracay trip. (Sending sunny thoughts your way, you guys. Sending sunny thoughts.)

We stayed at Kikko's Boracay - a fairly new resort at the extreme end of Station 1. We took 10-minute walks to get to the beach from the hotel, and as you saw from our pictures, we had to ride a multi-cab to get to D'Mall.
While I would have ordinarily considered these turn-offs, I am willing to let them go because of Kikko's most precious asset - the friendliest staff in the planet!

We weren't easy guests. We complained about the heater, locked ourselves out of our room once, and had food brought in every now and then. But the staff, hats off to them, remained pleasant and patient and most of all, efficient. Yey.

Our room wasn't bad too. It was spacious -

Oops. Excuse the pajamas, please.

One of the doors opened up to the pool -

The sheets were worthy of an urban hotel -

And the bath was wide and clean (except maybe for the fixtures. They needed a little buffing.) -

All in all we had a really cozy stay. I highly recommend Kikko's especially if you're going to Boracay with family. It's in the quieter side of the beach, which is just perfect for when your toddler chooses to streak across the lobby in his/her diapers. :)
