Peace out

I'm a fan of local t-shirt brand Artwork. I have written about them a few times in the blog, often in association with higher-end sister company Bleach Catastrophe. Artwork's shirts are very reasonably priced. They come in the softest cotton and now, in more stylish cuts like cropped or assymetrical.

The last time we went to Artwork Trinoma, Pao and I took home his & hers versions of this t-shirt designed by graphic artist AJ Dimarucot.

For the few who may not know, AJ Dimarucot has had his art printed via crowd-sourced t-shirt websites Threadless.com and DesignbyHumans. Among others, he has designed for Nike, Adidas, Alicia Keys, the late Michael Jackson, Manny Pacquiao, and band Panic at the Disco. He also owns clothing brand Googoo&Gaga with his wife, and they produce the coolest t-shirts and onesies for kids. So the best part of this is, we get to take home a piece of AJ's genius for only P595. Mabuhay ang Artwork!

Incidentally, I was browsing through e-bay the other night and found this H&M t-shirt for sale.

I'm not saying one artist copied off the other. People the world over are exposed to and influenced by the same events and images that we can barely trace where we get our ideas from. But the resemblance IS striking, although AJ's is definitely more well thought-out.
