But I forgot to mention where we stayed that time. We were booked at a small family-run resort called Eclipse.
It was located at Station 2 so plus points for not having to ride a multi-cab to get to where the "action" is, "action" being the food. The hotel is also at the beach front. We only had to take a few steps to get to the actual beach. Yey.
The rooms were big and fuss-free -
And the sheets were clean which was very important to me. Plus the owners/staff were friendly, efficient and very accomodating. Aprubs.
Unfortunately, Malik woke up on our 1st morning in Boracay with mosquito bites all over. Can you see the marks on his face here?
This happened even when Pao and I were already O.A. with the Giga Insect Repellant before we all went to bed. The next night, the very kind owners gave us an entire canister of Baygon. We thanked them for the thought but mosquito bites on the pogiboy are still not cool. Tsk.
The upside is that the mosquitoes in Eclipse apparently do not find adult blood appetizing. Pao and I remained unscathed throughout our stay.
So in conclusion, I recommend that you stay at the Eclipse ONLY when you DON'T have kids with you. The place gives value for money, but the savings are not worth stressing over potential dengue. (Rooms at P2,500/night by the way.)
