My sister and I were born four years apart. Our age gap wasn't very ideal. My sister was entering her teens while I was still stuck playing make-believe and Barbie. She'd ditch me any chance she'd get.

There was a time when our sibling rivalry had gotten so bad, we stopped speaking to each other. Not a word was said for three whole years. It was only when we both grew up and started raising our own families that we got along. We never talked about those years when we couldn't stand being in the same room. We just all of a sudden shared motherhood and all became well.

The two most important mothers in my life - my mom and my sisteraka.
I really hope Malik and Izik become best friends. We're trying our best not to treat Malik differently now that Izik is around. Izik admittedly gets a lot of attention. He can't take care of himself otherwise and let's face it, he's too kyoot. But we go on dates with Malik when we could.

A few things had to change. We have been telling Malik that he should set a good example because he's the kuya. So he's had to tone down playtime, for example. But I don't think there really is much pressure.

Eager to play.

I didn't know how I would feel about Izik once he was born. We love Malik so much and have spoiled him to some extent. We were afraid that we would not be able to love the new baby as much. But my goodness, the heart really does expand. I love both of them equally. I have more love for these two than I ever thought possible.

Malik looks for Izik when he wakes up in the morning.
He calls him pa-shong-shong and cha-pong-pong like I do.

Malik the photo bomber. :)
He does this when we're taking pictures of Izik.
